Managed Engineering and Technical Operations

Ongoing engineering support for the platforms and applications you depend on, scoped to what you actually need.

Overview

After launch, systems need patching, upgrades, capacity planning and someone who understands them when something goes wrong. We provide continuing engineering support for cloud infrastructure, DevOps platforms, Kubernetes environments and applications.

Support is agreed per engagement. Coverage hours, response expectations and escalation paths are defined together and written into the agreement, rather than promised generically on a website.

Alongside routine operations we look for recurring problems and fix their causes, so the system needs less attention over time.

Problems we address

  • Platforms built by a former team or vendor that nobody now owns
  • Upgrades postponed until they become urgent
  • Incidents resolved without anyone finding the cause
  • No capacity plan ahead of seasonal or business growth
  • An internal team that needs senior engineering input occasionally, not full time

What we deliver

Infrastructure and platform maintenance
Patching, version upgrades and configuration management for cloud and Kubernetes estates.
Monitoring and alerting
Tuned alerts with runbooks, so the right person is told about the right problem.
Release support
Planned releases, change windows and rollback readiness.
Incident response coordination
Structured triage, communication and post-incident reviews within agreed coverage.
Capacity and reliability planning
Load trends, scaling headroom and targeted reliability improvements.
Architecture assessments and consulting
Independent reviews of an environment with a prioritised, practical improvement plan.

Technology

Typical tools for this work. We choose per engagement; listing is not a claim of vendor partnership.

  • Kubernetes
  • OpenShift
  • Azure
  • AWS
  • Prometheus
  • Grafana
  • Dynatrace

Example use cases

Illustrations of the kind of work this covers.

  • Taking over operation of an inherited Kubernetes platform
  • Quarterly upgrade and patching cycles with documented outcomes
  • An architecture assessment before a major growth phase
  • Senior engineering support alongside an in-house team

Delivery approach

  1. Discover

Understand the business goal, the systems in place and the constraints: budget, compliance, skills and timelines.

  2. Design

Agree an architecture and delivery plan, with the trade-offs written down and the risks named early.

  3. Build

Deliver in small, reviewed increments with automated tests, infrastructure as code and regular demonstrations.

  4. Launch

Release through pipelines with monitoring, rollback paths and runbooks in place before go-live.

  5. Operate and improve

Run, measure and refine, or hand over fully documented to your own team.
